Postpartum Doula

The baby was born, and you feel you need support? The early days bring many adaptations, but you are not alone. Have the support of a doula who, through active listening, understands your challenges and will do her best to make your days lighter and more peaceful. Holistic, respectful and non-judgmental care offered by a doula with training in various fields, including comprehensive women’s health, breastfeeding advice (UNICEF-WHO) and lactation counselling. Touch of Love Program

A program of excellence that brings together everything families have always wanted to know to get started in the world of touch with baby massage and babywearing! 

Topics covered

  • Touch as communication tool for bonding

  • Introduction to babywearing/carriers

This is recommended between 2-6 months, when the baby is most receptive to a massage. However, the sooner you start, the sooner you will be able to reap the benefits of this very special touch, in terms of colic, sleep and general well-being of parents and baby.

Revisiting Childbirth

The experience of childbirth is not always in line with the dream of childbirth and, more than keeping it to yourself or repressing the feelings, it is essential to talk about it. Considering “mother and baby healthy” is not enough when the woman’s emotional health has suffered and, unfortunately, this is neither visible nor understood by society. Each woman carries an emotional world within her, often to be explored.

In this session, space-time is created to find new meanings in the experience of childbirth, looking for which skirts more strengthened. Here you will be heard, recognized in your pain and, with compassion and presence, we will bring light through the cuts you still feel. The time that has passed is not relevant, but the mark that the experience left on your body and soul. Whether 2 weeks, 2 years, 20 years have passed, it is always possible to revisit and reframe the history that lives in you.

Closing the Bones Ceremony

Close your eyes and imagine beings simply being cared for. This is a healing ceremony after birth, rooted in South American traditions. It was created to nourish the mother after she passed through the birth portal and entered the journey that is motherhood. A moment when the mother-woman is cared for by the tribe, with the magical power of water, herbs, touch. 

This ceremony is made up of different parts. We start by washing your feet. Herbs will help you to root. A full-body massage is then performed, focusing on the pubic bones, belly and hips, in order to channel the woman’s energy back to her creative center: the uterus. The woman is invited to enter a humid sauna. After resting, the rebozo (traditional Mexican shawl) is then used to close the bones of the entire body by wrapping the tissue around the body and closing it. This ceremony is offered by two therapists, in a beautiful house in Sintra or at your home, and lasts approximately 2-3 hours.

A sacred space for the mother to feel nourished, release emotions associated with childbirth and motherhood. When closing the body, a cycle also closes.

Blossoming of the mother woman

Being a mother can be both rewarding and challenging. The early days are entirely dedicated to the baby and the woman feels invisible. Can you recognize yourself? Sleep deprivation, frequent crying, disorientation in the first months… all of this is common, but it doesn’t have to be normal.

Possible topics to be addressed

  • Postpartum emotions: anger, sadness, shame and guilt
  • Expectation management, family communication and support networks
  • Feminine essence: where is the woman when she is a mother?
  • Rediscovering individual and two-person sexuality
  • Personal power, setting limits and self-care

In these sessions, a safe space is created, without judgment, so that you can talk about everything that disturbs the woman. If you wish, you can be alone or accompanied by your baby.

We are Parents

Parenting is a path of constant learning. Each of us has our beliefs about the best way to raise a child, a large part of which arose long before having children. When they arrive and pose challenges, it is common for parents to differ in strategies. What is the best approach?

Possible topics to be addressed

  • Validate and welcome children’s emotions (and adults!)
  • Connection without drama: neuroscience and discipline
  • Safe attachment and attachment for more autonomous children
  • Establish cooperation and alternatives to punishment
  • Embraces imperfection: How to repair the relationship

In these sessions, a safe time and space is created, where father and mother talk about what concerns them. In the light of the concepts of somatic experience, conscious parenting and mindfulness, alternative paths are explored. Embracing imperfection and guilt, we do the best we know, believing that there is always room for improvement.

Conscious couple

Based on the premises of empathic communication, the couple reveals their vulnerabilities, seeking to understand each other and themselves. The search for a deeper union requires the passage through dark places that are not always desirable but part of the journey for two. Cultivate resilience, authenticity, compassion and gratitude, to achieve a more meaningful relationship. Never forgetting desire and eroticism as fundamental pieces in the construction of intimacy.
